Comments to your blog posts are moderated, meaning you have to manually approve each one (to keep out the v1@gr@ ads). So if you have a comment showing the icon of a little green person with a red X over their mouth, that means no one can see that comment unless you approve it.

Just check the box next to the icon and either approve it or delete it (for spam).

The few times I've tried to help someone with their spelling in the forums I'll get either no reaction at all, or some variation on "I don't need your fascist rules, man. I write how I feel".

But the hard facts are, if you're looking to get responses on the internet today, you're reliant on seach engines such as google. And those don't take spelling into account.

So if you're looking for information on Photoshop, but type it as Photoshpo, forget anyone ever...

I know a lot of users are still trying to get their head around "what is a blog?", so I thought I'd offer my own experience.

I use a program called FeedDemon. There are lots of alternatives, many of them free. I just happen to like FeedDemon.

When you discover a blog you'd like to follow (more on that later), just find the RSS feed (the little orange icon over on the left here), copy the URL to the clipboard, then in FeedDemon click Subscribe. It automatically...

Some random thoughts for those wondering how a blog is "better" than the forums:

• The forums are more insular. Think of the forums as an intercom system. Blogs are your megaphone blasting out at the rest of the world.
• You can categorize. Have multiple interests? Make a category for each. That way if someone is interested in cats but not so much woodworking, they can still follow without being bothered by uninteresting topics.
• Forums are about "discussions" and "community".

The cliche of blogs is that they recycle links to other blogs, so who am I to argue?
