A Simple Idea

Caveat:
I am not an economist, or an accountant. I'm just a slob that had an idea while trying to keep himself awake on a long drive.

My simple plan to save the American economy:

For too long American business has been driven by reducing the American workforce, either by outsourcing or downsizing. We need to turn that around so they're driven by growing the American workforce.

First we need to create a new term, defined as 1 American employed for...

Digital Art Revolution
creating fine art with Photoshop by Scott Ligon

Most books I've read on Photoshop so far have been from the photographer's, retoucher or illustrator's perspective. This is the first one I've come across that was from the artist's viewpoint.

The book provided me with some much needed direction. He lays out some basic guidelines and then says one shouldn't limit themselves in any way with the 'new art'. He also...

I'm acting like a kid in a candy store - I don't really know where to start. I downloaded the full CS5 suite so I that I could take it out for a spin. Firing up InDesign was like a breath of fresh air. I used it umpteen years ago. It was like I've been holding my breath since using it last and finally exhaled. Now I can easily do all the text+image layout stuff that has been stymieing me in other programs.

So now do I study; 3D, animation, website layout?

Adobe Camera Raw does even more than I knew

Posted 06-11-2010 at 12:28 AM by CJ Swartz (First there was Photography...)

I've been using Photoshop since version 3 back in the early '90's, and I'm used to the fact that I still am learning it. I started using Camera Raw a few years ago, but used it initially just as a way of converting my raw files for use in Photoshop. I soon started using more of the basic features - adding fill light, using recovery to reduce over exposure in the highlights, adding contrast and reducing noise, adding...
