Thanks to all!
Nancy, the reason is quite simple: Reliability. I don't have a problem believing in the outstanding talents of a 14-year-old, but the main factor of the job is to be there when needed and I can't rely on some student who might be busy having dates or just "don't be in the mood". Does it sound reasonable? |
tbh I think you are being unreasonable in the assumption that anyone younger than 25 is unrealiable. I'm only 22 but I run my own freelance business part time as well as being a full time professional web developer for a high profile firm. I'm intelligent and eductated to degree level, as well as talented in a wide range of computer related areas.
On the other hand my boyfriend is 34 and couldnt even keep a job in telesales for more than 3 months. Bless his soul, I love him dearly but he is unreliable, lazy and has a poor work ethic. He's failed twice to get his degree and lived with his mother till he was 31.
I suport him and myself as well as paying child maintenance for his illegitamate son but because I'm young you would assume that I'm the irresponsible one.
Just fwiw, when you turn 25 you dont suddenly stop 'having dates' or mood swings or periods of lazyness. Theres a big gap between 14 and 25... theres even a 4 year gap between graduation and 25 :p
