I just don't see the point of, if someone really wanted this work, not being hyper critical of what one presents to this potential client (any client). This is a biz of perfection and what has been shown is far far from it. There is a great deal of Paula Abdul patting on the back and congratulating of poor work here. It doesn't help anyone.
I certainly don't condone the congratulating of poor work either. I agree with you that forums like this often have an overload of "backpatting" where useful critique would be more helpful.

However, there is a difference between giving useful critique and being rude. If you are really interested in giving critique then perhaps you should work on your skills at it?

HaHaHa! Lol at Ant's avatar!

To those who are offended, maybe change the way you look at being critiqued. When confronted w/a tiny Simon, do you sit there with your arms crossed, or do you work harder to prove him wrong?

Re: Seeking Jewlery Retouching Also

Well I'm sorry, but at least people are trying. We may not all be pros but at least we're here, sharing, giving opinions and learning. Your rant about being too good (as implied by your tone) is rude and uncalled for. You should be glad that people come here and are interested in your profession, sharing the same interest that has apparently put bread on your table. A little support for the community that shares your passion for the industry that had provided for you wouldn't go astray either. Critical, yes, we all should be otherwise we don't grow, but critical has to be based on reasonable motives that allow people to learn not be put off.

cmpdesinz, It's been communicated to me that you may not have been talking about people's retouch of your image, rather, the original which you posted. My apologies, no malice was intended.
