Family/personal retouching examples needed

Urgently need examples and quotes for my next article for STEP Inside Design...if used, your url will appear in the magazine, which goes to 25,000 design professionals.

I am looking for examples (hi res before and afters, ideally) and quotes from a bunch of sources for the following: the trend of personal/family photo retouching.

Have you had (or you know anyone who has) done some of this kind of reality altering work for your own or others' family/personal photos?

Because of the ease and widespread awareness of photo manipulation, personal photo retouching/manipulation has become accepted. STEP's audience is the creative pro so I am writing from that perspective but I am looking for personal stories as well:

Examples:

- removing a former boyfriend or spouse from photos

- adding family members or friends who could not attend a reunion

- joining self or family with a dead loved one or pet

- combining the children from two second marriages into a new family photo, etc.

Professionals have gotten into the game to assist people unable or too time pressed to do it themselves (although it has never been easier for amateurs to do their own retouching); I need examples of a cottage industry of specialists who have sprung up who not only prettify but who can create an alternate reality.
