Re: Looking for freelance retouch job

Hi Alx n
You Really need to put a portfolio together of 15 to 20 images
Also get a website, people to take you seriously you have to be serious
Last Mileeeeeeena is right this probably is not the best place to look for work

just my opinion

Re: Looking for freelance retouch job

I wonder why when some one post they are look for a job people have to post nasty things on the board saying they are not good enough.
By the way if you don’t have a job to offer why are you commenting?
This is very rude
If you will like to give a comment I think you should send the person a personal message what they should do not bring that person down in front the board.

Re: Looking for freelance retouch job

Website is the way. Its the ultimate marketing tool, because, as-well as sales objs, it can help fulfill all your positioning, branding, relationship mkt goals and help you establish credibility. I am thinking of designing a website, not really a pro retoucher, but will offer that and then diversify into general online and print design.

I took it that you were putting the person down, too. You made fun of this person's "um... talents". Isn't the classifieds section the place to look for or offer work?

Re: Looking for freelance retouch job

This site is dedicated to help people who want to learn. Since most of the people that are here to increase their own skills at retouching, creative work, and such, this is really not a good audience to market yourself. Most of the people here can do the work for themselves. As such, this really isn't the place to be marketing yourself. Now if you want to improve yourself through constructive feedback, advice, tutorials, and other general help, then this is exactly the place to be.

So if you have questions want help, or would like to pitch in your own advice to others wanting to learn, please do so.

If you want to drum up business, you would have better luck looking into other venues.

Dave

Re: Looking for freelance retouch job

Actually the Classified forum says and I quote: 'Post job openings, your resume, or try to sell/buy retouching/restoration related items'.

Personally I read that as you are most welcome to sell yourself and what you do, here. In fact many people have done so over the years and gotten jobs.

Re: Looking for freelance retouch job

Your absolutely right, Ziaphra. And I don't think the correct thing to do is to tell anyone to go away. On the other hand, I don't think this is the ideal audience to market retouching services to, since most of the people here do similar work. So I would still recommend to someone wanting to find business, that they continue to look in other venues. If they want to post something here though, Go for it.

Sorry bro, but I don't get your English. However, I have no complains if it's the right place or not. Some people is just arrogant instead helpful. Just keep your own
