up and coming high end retoucher wanted

I'm a photographer who is looking to shoot some tests this year for my book. I want to get away from retouching images myself and get someone who can do good quality work for a decent price. I have a possible project coming up that has a small budget for retouching and I would like to see some examples of peoples work.

I'm based in the uk and cannot afford the cost of retouching here so ideally i'm looking for someone outside of the uk or usa who has some skill and is getting into high end fashion retouching.

Most of my work is editorial style fashion, so does not require hours of dodge and burn, but I still am looking for people with this skill.

Requirements:

MUST be able to dodge and burn skin (no blurring what so ever!)

understands the difference between retouched and over retouched

ideally has an understanding of both film and digital formats

Is able to replicate different looks eg cross proccessed, polaroid, film stock etc or if not be willing to learn

I'm happy to recieve emails from people in the us and uk, but even if your work is great, if you cannot compete on price I will not be able to afford you! I am putting my book together and not making any money from shooting. I have had some replies from talented people who offer a very reasonable rate compared to standard high end retouching rates for the uk.

In addition, please put a rough guide price for work per image rather than per hour.

My work is mainly fashion based rather than beauty, so generally does not require hours of d+b, but still needs someone who has an 'eye' for retouching.

Best of luck in finding someone that will fit your needs.

A bit of advice, you get what you pay for... so maybe you should lower your expectations if you want to get high end skills at a low rate.

I understand you're building a portfolio and lot of good retouchers here are doing the same. in that case I would consider showing some of your work here, so the skilled retouchers could see if it is something they would want to add to their portfolio. Just like you as a photographer wouldn't shoot some designers line if the clothes were crap and wouldn't be caught dead showing it in your book, AND they weren't paying you very well for it.


Also, from a retouchers standpoint it's very difficult to have a general 'per image' rate without seeing it and establishing the amount of work invloved first.

Thanks for your message. I've found a few retouchers who have high end skills, but are not working for big retouching houses and charging mega bucks. Such is the beauty of the internet, a poor photographer like myself can get people in south america and eastern europe who charge less than their us or uk counterparts but still have a reasonable understanding of high end retouching.

If I like someones work and think that I can afford them then I will send them some of my own work
