| | | 1. RaccIria - nice overall tone - very slick
2. Swampy - excellent art deco feel
3. Kr1156 - good background, maybe the guy could have been blended in more
4. Peter_S - gives a good feeling of the rich and bored
5. makeovermagic - the graininess makes it seem old fashion.
Everyone did a great job. |

| | | As always this months contest was a hard one to judge.
Luckily there weren't as many entries as there have been in other months, and thanks to Marsha kindly putting up a gallery, I was able to view all of them at once, which made things more convenient, if not any easier to judge.
Just so Racc Iria doesn't get too big headed I've put him last for being such a talented swine.
OK, here's my choice, and if I've not chosen you its only because we're only allowed to vote for 5, I think all the entries were excellent, and in my eyes everyone who entered this contest is a winner. 1st Place Racc Iria (I lied about not voting for him) Loved everything about this, from the concept to the execution, don't think there's anything bad I can say about it. 2nd Place Make Over Magic Liked the concept, thought the Sepia tone and the noise were a nice touch. Execution was excellent. 3rd Place Joao Close between this and Swampy's entry, the superior extraction of the figure got it for me. 4th Place Swampy Good concept, just let down a touch by black line around white jacket. 5th Place Peter_S A pair of legs like that has just got to get my vote. |

| | As I sit here re-installing Adobe CS2, and other programs lost when my beta version of windows vista screwed up, I figured I would do something productive rather than watch the installer bar move across the screen.
This was a lot of fun to do, and I loved seeing all the variations on the same theme. Well done all who participated, and thanks for making the voting so difficult. I keep changing my mind on which I like best, but here are my votes:
1st: Racc-Iria - Hands down winner for me with seemless integration
2nd: kr1156 - Clean job and a close second
3rd: Swampy - Like this, reminds me of a magazine cover
4th: CathyH - I like the crop that you chose, it works
5th: PhotoB - I like the simplicity of it, it works for me.
And now I'm going to hit 'submit reply' before I change my mind again.

| | | This was a fun contest. It was interesting to see the different variations. Here are my votes. Everybody did well.
1. Peter_S - I really liked the implied farce. Looks like it would be an entertaining musical.
2. kr1156 - The execution of this entry was very smooth. I would have liked to see a more deco style font, though. To me this felt more like a book or magazine cover.
3. irshgrlkc - Like the on-stage feel. Would have been a little stronger with a few more stage props, but still had good poster potential.
4. Swampy - Liked the gritty "pulp" feel of this one. It would have scored higher for me without the black outline around the guy.
5. makeovermagic - The old theater background gives it a nice nostalgic tone. |
