Re: August 2008 Contest Discussion

Well Doug, I like your present Avatar. It sort of represents the frustrations of life. However I will try to cook up something. I wonder what sort of mood you want to express in your new avatar.

nazi rainbow land? Nup doesn't fit in 50 x 50, personally think he fits in best chained to desk with qwerty imprinted on his forehead

Unless someone is holding onto their entry for the last minute, it looks like 100% of the entries will be in the top 5.

Re: August 2008 Contest Discussion

Is it just me or does everyone else have the same or similar problem? At 50 x 50 pixels, I can't truly see the submissions. Wouldn't it have been easier on the eyes to have them submitted a tad larger and scale them down later?

Just call me too old and blind...

Janet

Re: August 2008 Contest Discussion

I have acquired a new found respect for Icon makers!

BTW, Doug... I like your present Iconic Identity Bestest!

Janet, I agree they are small.. but they are life size and the way they would be seen on the www so I think it is appropriate for judging.. (Besides when I shrunk mine it helped hide all those mistakes)

Re: August 2008 Contest Discussion

I have found that I have a talent for making lousy avatars. I am waiting to submit until I come up with one I like or I run out of time.

It would help if Doug had more information in his profile.

Re: August 2008 Contest Discussion

janet, not only does it hide mistakes as OB mentioned, but it also raises problems and that's the real trick. dithering and anti-aliasing take on whole new meanings in a 50x50 format

and ruzzez, see, now here's a really good reason all of you shld have taken advantage of when doug was sitting in the chat room all by his lonesome for hours at a time

Re: August 2008 Contest Discussion

doing the work wouldnt have been hard, but putting 'doug' in an avatar; that part got me and did me in and i guess that's why i thought yours was so good, lonk. i remember doug being in on the duck thread, so it just fit

Thanks y'all very much for your comments, votes and felicitations. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. I'm hoping Doug will chime in with his reaction to our efforts.
