Re: August 2008 Votes

Lonk - I remember the Duck thread. Also, it's a small detail, but I like the way the Duck is looking toward the posts.

Pixeltek - Like the Mystery person.

Cassidy - Clever well done cartoon in a small space also looking at posts

Palms - Just the pure simplicity of it.

CathyH - The colors make it an attention getter.

Re: August 2008 Votes

Wow really impressed with you all, having never made an avatar, I had no idea what was involved.

1. Lonk, Love the simplicity, the cuteness and the shadows
2. Ruzzez, great original idea with lovely execution and so detailed
3. Lorraine, love the simplicity and the detail, really stands out well in such a small space
4. Oltenius, great execution but a bit demonic for me as I prefer to think of Doug as a bit of a softie inside and the mirroring doesn't quite do it for me, maybe a little too complex for such a small area
5. Cathy H, what a great concept, would have been nice to have had a few more pieces but on 50x50, probably too big an ask

Re: August 2008 Votes

Great work by all in a difficult contest.

1. pixeltek - This best represents our administrator.

2. LonK - What a face!

3. CathyH - Simple and to the point.

4. Cassidy - Frazzled!! I'm sure running this place can do that.

5. ruzzez - Colorful and fitting.

Re: August 2008 Votes

I gotta say, this is one very unusual "contest" for RetouchPro. With such a subjective assignment and sketchy guidelines, I, for one, was virtually clueless to come up with an entry in the first place. Indeed, I made up no less than a dozen candidates before deciding.

I found voting even more difficult. All of the entries are excellent in their own right. I thought it would be most appropriate for Doug to just choose his favorite, if any, and leave it at that. However, since that's not how these contests work, I choose MY favorites based primarily on visual impact:

1. Lorraine
2. 0lBaldy
3. Cassidy
4. CathyH
5. oltenius
