Re: Dec 09 Contest Discussion

Please don't go too hard on me for submitting a "real" ginger bread house. I wanted it to be a domicile that people could live in but find appetizing and appealing to look at. This is my interpretation with no one else to blame. Thanks!

Re: Dec 09 Contest Discussion

The one I'm working on is starting to look too illustrated, so i think i will need to start over. Here is what I have so far.
I liked yours aartist.

Re: Dec 09 Contest Discussion

Cathy,

Love the illustrated look, but for this contest it needs to look photo realistic. Perhaps you could use your illustration as a template of what to add to the real house. Also it would make for a wonderful holiday card!!

Cheers,

~T

Re: Dec 09 Contest Discussion

Thanks T.
I will keep working on one that will fit the rules. But that was really fun to make, I don't very often find a reason to use all those cool "styles" that I have gathered.

Thanks Ruzzez. That was a lot easier than trying to make this house look right. I'm sure struggling to get it to look like I want it to.

Re: Dec 09 Contest Discussion

Hopefully everyone is just polishing up their entries before turning them in...(hint, hint). I am hoping to see a few more before this month's contest closes.

Happy Holidays!

Re: Dec 09 Contest Discussion

I wonder if anyone feels as I do, that the judging was way more difficult with so few entries.

---and---

Why so few entries? Hectic season? Too difficult?

I've only been participating since last April , the Poisidon figure & seem to be learning more as each month goes by. I'd also expect that with an activity such as this that there'd be at least 20, if not 30 entrants each month.

I look forward to each challenge each month.

Re: Dec 09 Contest Discussion

Yes, I think the fewer entries maid it harder to vote.

I always learn from these challenges, you are given a task and have to use your skills or learn how to do something, and use your imagination.
I don't think this was any harder than past challenges, but like you suggest maybe it was a busy time of year.

Re: Dec 09 Contest Discussion

It is much harder to vote with so few entries.

If I remember correctly, in the past there were no contests in December. It is a hectic time of year for so many.

For me, this contest became very time consuming and addicting Searching for the images that I wanted to incorporate took up the most time. It was fun though.

Re: Dec 09 Contest Discussion

I agree with Lorraine. This was a very time consuming project. I like having a contest during December, but maybe it could be less complicated.

I ended up taking picture of candy that I wanted to use, after I failed to find what I wanted on line.

I would have liked to decorate the inside of the house and left the windows open, but I didn't have time.

Y'all are to be commended!

I gave up in frustration! (nuttin seemed to work)

I don't envy the judging... some tough choices there.. All excellent works!

Thank you Veronica.

I only wish I could bake without Photoshop. You did a great job on your gingerbread house as well.
