| Re: August 10 - Contest Votes 1. CathyH - the colors and lighting made this blend together as a harmonious whole 2. Veronica - I like the grass in the foreground and the brown you used to unify the paint and tree 3. Lorraine - the cow top of the chess piece (2nd from right) the right ear is at an awkward angle. I wish the entire owl's beak was visible 4. Pshop-addict - I like how you blended the face statue into the tree. I think it was one of the more difficult elements to incorporate well 5. Sveltpig - some very nice editing - especially the shadows and use of green and beige but I don't sense any 'unity' between the various elements |

| Re: August 10 - Contest Votes My selections are based on personal taste as well as what I consider to be the most imaginative and skillful use of the images given to us. 1. pshop-addict -- Wonderfully, subtly done. The face looks great as part of the tree trunk. I also like the green accent color. 2. CathyH – Each element is very well blended. Love the surreal look about the entire composition. 3. NYBOB – Simple and very nicely done. Only critique is that the face should look a little more realistically placed on the handle. 4. OlBaldy – Good blending of the elements. You might have been able to drop the paint bucket and still have had a great composition. 5. butlermike -- Great imagination and good execution. The twirling paint drops however, to me, detract slightly from the overall impact. Special mention: Veralisa – Good blending of the elements, and I particularly like the transparency of the paint drops. Nasturtium – I love the cow’s foot in the bucket. Sveltepig – Good idea to incorporate the owl on the paint bucket. Everyone did very well in this difficult contest. Lorraine Last edited by Lorraine; 08-26-2010 at 01:21 PM. | Re: August 10 - Contest Votes Fresh, startling, imaginative work has been executed by everyone. Seriously. 1) Lorraine... most unique in approach. Proportion of eagle's head was startling & faces on chess pieces done so fine. 2) Sveltpig...clean format, lights and shadows excellent. This shows so much design savey. * 3) axpiota59...I thought the use of the tree made a most interesting background. 4) CJ...I laughed as I imagined the sore loser. Looks like it was a rough game. *5) djids...great work, the chesspiece is dangling in the same shared atmosphere as tree. Wish you made the cow larger though. I counted three people who exceeded the 100kb size limit. *first posts! |
