I started working on the image and I still don't get the "Phoenix-style Halloween" stuff. I know I should not discuss the rules but I thought that it might get things easier for all the non Phoenix residents like me...

Hi, im new to posting my photo's. I did the 'halloween challenge' but now i want to post my photo and the size is too big to upload, any ideas on how to change this without messing up the photo? and.....which challenge is this, retouch 105 or......... ?

i finished my photo, but where do i post it now? This will be my first entry. Also, 800x600 messes up de aspect ratio, can i fix that somehow?

1. 4personnen- I really like the way you did the hair, I tried to do that and i couldn't make it look right but you have. I also like the feathers.
2. marksiekmans- I like the fine detail to the hair, it must have took a long time to do that. I like how the hair morphs into flames at the end, and the smoothness of the skin. It almost looks like porcelain.
3.aartist- I like the the way you colored the hair, the way you did the eyes and the necklace you added.
4 Peter S- I like how you made it look like she was on fire, and the spooky appearance you gave her. Its whats halloween is about.
5. Cupcake- i like the warm tones you used on the hair and skin, and the face painting, it kinda reminds me of tribal paint, and you did a great job with the necklace, and excellent selection for the fire.

I've been off the computer for a while, concerving resources until the computer fairy delivers a new one to my home. Photoshop CS2 ran so-o-o-o slowly it was like wading through molasses just trying to finish anything.

All of the versions are really great!

after seeing my entry on my dad's computer screen (which is much larger and brighter) i see a lot of my flaws in my work. As soon as i get home I will see if i can fix them.

Then, you probably seen a lot of flaws in "our" work too.

no all the entries look good.. i just see alot of places where i didnt blend my layer good like the red in the hair and that green still left of her shirt toward the bottom.. i need a better monitor

Arghhhh! Jpeg compression wins again. My cartoonish entry didn't look quite the same uploaded as it did when I was working on the .psd file. Nevertheless, there are some great entries. And I'm glad we all had fun.

thanks to everyone who submitted an edit. It's been a fun month and I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I have.

4personnen - excellent fire color and work on the Halloween clothes
aartist - What a lot of fun! They eye makeup is delightfully outrageous and the hairwork exceptional
Cupcake - Your work of warping the phoenix bird onto the face was really well done
Janet Petty - You edit is crazy, fanciful and half a delightful jack-o-lantern/clown
jeremy1986 - Your hair work is seamless and the change of clothes is absolutely convincing
K-GiMiNi-M-Wow! This has an eastern/Kali feel to it. the glowing eyes are terrific
Ikroll-The yellow brush strokes are great - kinda like foil highlights
marksiekman - yours has a 'high fashion' feel to it - it would make a wonderful illustration for a magazine article on bad hair days
Peter-S - Very 'Goth' reminds me a bit of Morticia Adams/Lily Munster
gimini-1- the phoenix in the flames a very nice additional touch
veralisa - definitely a good witch of the North interpretation

This was a very interesting contest. I loved looking at so many variations on a theme. And thank you Naturtium for volunteering your pretty face so the rest of us could play with it!

I did kind of get a tad confused (not too hard for me to do) about whether it was a costume she could "put on" or was a concept of burning and rebirth. Not a big deal in the whole scheme of things. And both were depicted.

Personally I tried to give her the appearance of a bird. As I look at her I can almost hear her cluck, cluck, clucking. Sorry N. BTW, all those feathers were leaves. Flames, too.

I really wish more members would jump in and enjoy the challenge these contests offer. Perhaps we could talk it up somewhere out there.
