| High School Reunion Collage Hello all,
This is my first post.I'm honored to be here.
This is a collage of my high school graduating class of 1965. It's comprised of 204 layers. I had about 35 photos that I scanned in first which can be seen as very clear inserts. The remainder were scanned in from the yearbook with 1965 imaging technology.
The reason I'm doing this is because the vast majority of the yearbooks were lost in the flood of 1972 up in Wilkes-Barre Pa. (hurricane Agnes). I'm printing out copies for each attending classmate (about 55) so that each may have a "yearbook on one page". I'll be printing an 11" x 14" for everyone.
-I chose a black background because of it's "forgiving" nature.
Sizes and placement of classmates were done at my discresion.
-Degree of fade, size and "interblending" for each person were done based on esthetics. I wanted the fade to present "something from the past".I splashed some color here & there to eyes and neckties to break up the monotony. (Don't know if you'll be able to see that).
-I inserted years from 1947 to 2005 in gold in a "swoop fashion" from top left to bottom right. This is the year we were born up to present time.
-The president, vice president, secretary & treasurer images are larger and centered.
-The deceased members are in the lower right with our mascot superimposed over them.
-The high school is on the upper left.
-All work was done in PS7.
I could not have done this without adding another 1 gig of ram. I started with 512gig & when I reached 50-60 layers, things started getting cumbersome. The performance after adding the additional 1 gig was very significant. The final Layered copy is 457GB.
Corel knockout is wondeful. This took me about 35 hours to complete. Without knockout it would have doubled that.
Please give me a critique. I hope that it shows up well on your monitors. I printed out a couple of copies & I'm satisfied with it. So is my wife and I consider that the "acid" test.
kind regards,
bartist
