Hi all,
I remember seeing a post asking if people ever did orignal art.but could not find the post. "How I got hooked into this!" I was hired to do "simple photoshop tutorial" for the web. When I submitted my first tutorial for "Making Photoshop Brushes from any Photo" the client said, "exactly what I am looking for," however when I submitted the other two (which at this point I realized was too much work for the $$), he said he couldn't use them and needed original effects as here: http://www.greycobra.com/index/260/F...eld_Explosion/
Yikes... well, I usually woudn't replace the work, however, I felt I jumped the gun. I had supplied a list of tutorial to him and when he asked which other two I would do, I had already done them. Anyway.. to the point (oh please hurry, the reader is thinkin'). Here is the original effect I came up with. I call it "A star is born." and many other things I can't repeat here! There are eight steps to this tutorial. I'm uploading the first image I started with and the final image. creative criticism is welcomed (ie if you have a suggestion - tell me how to do it)....please!. ~Nancy~

k. gonna give ya another idea just cause the client sounds like he's ripping you a bit... black holes! paint a black brush on a black background and give that to him seriously, though...well, sorta serious... take your original (ya, i know you wanted a critique, but i'm off and running now), the one with the single circle, and go the other way. instead of filling middle and twirling and so on, use the circle to paint AROUND the 'hole', the black in the middle. then just go creative with 'debris', add a starfield as a backdrop, and voila', instant black hole! oh, and for real dramatica, add a white 'starfish' effect, and warp/bend the 'arms' to the middle around the black hole. or, instead of a starfish, do a 'field of light'. remember, black holes bend light. then add in the starship Enterpri....oh wait, that's something else. never mind
