First attempt

This was my first attempt at enhancing and coloring a photo. It's of a co-workers mother. She was very pleased with it as was I but now I'm looking for expert guidence. I used Corel Paint Shop Pro X.

I am like it, but the sky could be toned done because that was the first thing I saw and not the beautiful mother.
This is great for a first try -this is something I don't do so my hat is off to you

Yes, I agree. The sky should be lightened. Also, the blue should be biased to Magenta not Green.

Cheers

It would be great if my mind and my fingers worked together. and if these forums would have a spell checker.

Nice first try! Good Job.

Pretty good on the clouds too. They are tough to do by hand. I agree on the reduced saturation and contrast.

Lately I have begun to take photos of clouds near an open field here - I use these realistic clouds all the time as cut ins to add back good looking skys into pictures. Skys are usually pretty much washed out in pictures - so adding back in a perfect one is always fun. And you can easily tweek it till its perfect.
