Color correction

I've been lurking around for the past few weeks and finnaly decided to post something. I just basically wanted some feedback and to know what I can improve on Thanks!

Carmilla, welcome to retouch pro. I am an amateur non-professional and not a glamor type of touch up person so I guess I would suggest you take what I say with a grain of salt.

I have a problem with the coloring of the iris. its about 90 degrees off. I believe that the specular highlight on the eye at the 12 oclock position will tend to color the iris at the 6:00 position and so the gradient color should be from the top down rather than from right to left.

The lower (6:00) part of the iris should be lighter than at the top because of the lighting of the iris which is in front and above the iris.

Thanks for the link. I don't know much of the techinal elements of retouching since I just kind of taught myself so for now alot of what I do is just what I think looks right. It's always really helpful when I can learn more about how higlights and shadows are supposed to fall.
