If this was your first try, I'd say excellent work. I really like the eyes

Can you tell us what software you used?

I agree with Swampy... Eyes really make it plus I like how you made the subject just slightly off center.

i think you did a nice job as well.

and since this is an artified image, the critique is going to be a 'my personal taste' thing and certainly open to arguement.

i've really only two small beefs here. one, the hair at the top of the head looks like a completely different stroke to everything else in the image. it looks airbrushed rather than painted with a brush. regardless of what you call the effect, it just looks too much different and thus throws things off.

i love the face treatment. good shadows and highlights. great eyes. and you did the one thing i really like; you didnt change her look, her facial features. they remained intact and that can be really difficult to do at times. so well done there!

the other preference here is i'd have loved to see just a bit more of the hair detail.
