i'll just give you personal opinion on this one.

i like the skin tone and color better on the first one.

i like the eyes on the second one.

i like that you widened out the hair on the 2nd but it's now too coarse.

i'm guessing you're doing a dodge and burn technique here, but i think you went too much dodge on the camera left cheek and the camera left hand.

the 2nd one is a little more moody, which i sort of like but the color tone puts me off a bit, especially when compared to the original. had you just lit it differently for the mood rather than the dodge and burn (if that's what it was), then i think it would have come across better that way.

so, aside from the hair coarseness, this is almost entirely subjective. overall, i prefer the 1st one, but i like points on the 2nd as well and it's almost a toss-up if i had to choose one over the other.

I don't think the first photo didn't need much touch up anyways.
