Another Style for the same portfolio

Another Style for the same portfolio.

This was a request from a client: He wanted airbrushed look but with pores and texture.

As long as you don't post them outside Retouh Pro and even here if it is outside this thread (always in retouchpro) you have to credit the photographer and the model and link back here. No problem.

Really like your work, especially on the redhead. Is it too much to ask that you post the link to your Flickr page? I'd love to check out some more of your stuff...

You smoothed out the face by just dodging and burning? Lightening and darkening? I don't see how.

Joey, "mostly dodge and burn" still leaves room for color correction and mole removal by other means, but dodging and burning is the technique she says she used, and it obviously works beautifully. I'm posting my effort at dodge/burn using curves as set up by Doug Nelson in one of the threads I linked to about dodge/burn technique -- if anyone laughs at my efforts, I won't mind because I know that I don't have any skill at doing this, but I think my short time working on the image does show "a change in the general direction of the goal". A person who knows what they're doing can change facial contours, make skin appear smoother (I'm guessing that reducing the contrast between dark/light pixels helps make this look possible). I have learned that I would soon go blind and lose feeling in my hand if I had to do this work on a regular basis, and that those who excel in this field are to be commended on their skill, patience, and understanding of light/shadows. Joey, give this image a try if you are still interested in learning to work with high-end images of beautiful women. [I'm just happy to see that beautiful people have some flaws that need fixing.]

Re: Workin on a style NSFW

Hey Godmother.....i personally like your skinwork a lot better when you don't use degrunge, or at least less evident. I think you can smooth your skin pretty nice without it. i also like the look you have going on with the redhead. the area abover he elbow looks a little weird, where the shadow and highlight meet abruptly, starts to look sharp, like something under her skin bulging out.

i played with one of your images skin a little bit, just smoothed it out a bit and colored, a little quick reshaping also! i would fix the corner of her mouth on your after version, looks like a blemish or something, kinda distracting.

2nd shot was just a different background, high school protrait maybe!

only my opinion.

Yes I like your skin work, I like brighter pics though.

I haven't seen this thread in a long time.
