Why isnt this working?

Hello everyone...

This is a project I have been noodling with on and off for a few weeks now. For some reason though I cant seem to get it to look right. Maybe I can get some C&C to help me out?

I intend on filling the whole to finish the concept off, but i need to make this work first...

Edit: the cloudless version if the b4 the darker version is the after.

Thanks

The perspective needs to be worked on. The area where you added the brick material is off perspectively speaking and needs to be tweaked. It could also use some more shading in that area to give it more depth. It feels flat compared to the rest of the photo.

Re: Why isnt this working?

I don't know where you want to get to but here is an idea. I duplicated the background layer, bumped up the highlights of the new layer with levels. Duplicated the bumped highlights layer, desaturated, blending mode=color, opacity =40%. I think the mood of the building now fits better with the stormy night.

I'm no artist. I just like to play with things
