Sorry I'm a bit short of time so can't give you a full critique.

The one thing that really hits me is the overblown whites in your "finished" picture. You've adjusted contrast so much that all detail in the clothing is gone (it's there in the original).

This is a common beginner's mistake.

Always leave a copy of the original where you can see it. That way when you make an adjustment in the piece you're working on you can compare it and see whether it enhances or detracts from what was there originally.

But as a rule of thumb, never make large all picture contrast adjustments.
