My biggest complaints are the blown out area on her forehead and uneven lipstick. |

| | | Re: whats wrong? Hi hexi,
I think it's just an uncomplimentary photo for this woman and taken when she wasn't at her best (hair, lipstick, etc).
I usually don't 'beautify' to this extent, but I gave it a try.
Edit: added 2nd version, more natural?

I used the Portraiture plugin for the skin and also added a selective color adj layer to lessen the highlights on the forehead. |

1)there are black specks in the corners of her eyes that need to be removed
2)smooth undereye area more. The bags under eyes do not flatter her.
3)lips are shaped funny and need to be blended into the skin as they look like they are floating on top of it
4)on our right side of the pic near the inner corner of her eye (closest to her nose) the eye crease looks blotchy and make caked on. blend it more.
5)her neck needs to be smoothed. It needs to be as smooth as the face.
6)remove the white specks of light on the corner of her. they are distracting
7)always cover the tip of the ear with hair. It will do wonders
8)remove the stray hairs. it's messy looking
9)you can see where you cloned her hair. This too makes her hair look frizzy.
10) blush is too bright
Thats about it. It's a pretty good job. You just need to fine tune some things. |

| | | Re: whats wrong? manuela,
If you are trying to learn (glamour) retouching then this is not the type of image you should be training on.
With all due respects to the lady, and with no respect at all to the photographer, this is just a bad shot and is best left forgotten.
This is more of a restoration job - sortta "making a silk purse ......." ( or as some would put more graphically "t**d polishing").
(I think I got it to look like a "before" image)
good luck

When in doubt, convert to B&W |

She looks yellow...
How'd you do that?
It probably would come in handy for making people look golden on bronze! |
