critique my first picture This is the first picture I've worked on. My husband used the old cannon point and shoot I cannot get rid of the yellow/green tones, or lighted up the red. I think I over did her face. I wanted to highlight her. I tried to remove the red from her hands, but when using the healing tool, it turns her hands black? http://www.flickr.com/photos/22325918@N08/ Last edited by janie; 03-07-2008 at 01:17 PM.

Re: critique my first picture here is my results i first duplicated original layer and blended a "High pass" filter using "soft light" then duplicate original again and "Gaussian blurred" it about 2px and blended "darken" then duplucated the blurred layer and change blending to "lighting" changed "pacity" to about "30%" on both blurred layers then to fix skin color a created a skin texture layer and masked it so only effected the skin and change blending to "multiply" and reduced "opacity" tell looked ok

Re: critique my first picture Here's my take. I went with a darker background to make you stand out more. Duplicate the background. I used Quick Mask to select the foreground figure and then New Layer via Copy. To the background layer copy, I added a Reveal All layer mask with a gradient from bottom to top (dark on the bottom). Then select the image icon in the layer and use Levels and Gaussian Blur to set the background. oh - I forgot. I used Hue Saturation adjustment, selecting the red channel and moving the bottom (lightness) slider to the left to remove some of the red cast. I left some of the red cast in for the "night club" atmosphere. There might be a couple of other minor thing I did but I think you get the idea.
