Sometimes the folks at work ask me why a write better than they do (in Portuguese). I reply that I read everything that I write - twice!

Try this:
1) Sleep;
2) Open your image;
3) Imagine that it is not yours, it's from your worst enemy;
4) Criticise very harshly;
5) Fix what's wrong. (Repeat as necessary)

| | | Re: Another retouch you guys! I am not one of the experts but I can at least say what I don't like about it. The skin looks very plastic. A lot of stray hairs, and the hairpins could go, as well as the tuft of hair on the upper right corner of her forehead. I find the white area in her ear a little distracting. Also the back part of the necklace could go IMO. The overall appearance, to me, looks harsh and I prefer a softer lighter look, but maybe that's just personal taste.
Here is how I would do it, but like I said in the beginning, I'm not a retoucher. |

Oh, and BTW. She looks weird, maybe some close-up lens distortion or maybe she's just that way. Your retouch has hightened the impression.
