Re: Critique please!

Bandenk,

I think it;s a good start but I don't think it's done yet.

I like the background, it really pops now.

It really is lacking contrast on the chest compared to the face, I would try and burn in some more shadows and try to play with the apply image, vivid light at a low number (3-8% ish), that will likely plug the shadows in the face so doing it on a duplicate layer and erasing some of the effect layer may be needed.

The skin looks pretty de-saturated now, even if your going for that look I would add some more color in, as you look pretty gray in the after photo.

I might remove some/most of the blurring in the face, especially under the eye's and cheek bone.

Just some idea's, keep it up

Re: Critique please!

I would agree with Adam. It is easy to see the difference between the retouch in the facial area compared to your chest and arms. I also prefer the original skin tone vs the newer... unless you were going for the lighter tone.
The shadow on the left side of the face is nice but maybe a smidge too dark.
You may also try for some more symetry. If you cannot reshoot with the shoulders even, then you can transform them to look a bit more even.
Think about your crop. It may be better to crop higher on the pec's. You want to keep the viewers' eyes on your face, I believe.
Again, just some thoughts... please post your revisions for us !
