Re: Break dancer shot composite & lighting effect

effects look to simple. add more and more tonal effect to it. play with color, shadows, or rather highlights it should cast. do more. work more.
and remember 5-2% of opacity is really effective specially in dark scenes.

I really love the colors and I will love it even more if you attach the before and after to see what you did... very nicely done

Re: Break dancer shot composite & lighting effect

I like to overall composite and tonality/color. It is an interesting blend of real and surreal, maybe not enough of the later.

Just thinking out loud... The motion effects may be a little too much like feary dust for me. To bring more attention to the act of break dancing, maybe a different motion effect would be better.... some motion blur toward the legs and feet. I don't think it would distract from the image, as our eyes are easily drawn to the dancer. But, you could try it and see.

Re: Break dancer shot composite & lighting effect

I Would have appreciated a before image. The image seems fine without the added sparkle effects. I think this is one of those instances where less would be more.

I like the mood and color, fits the subject nicely.

Re: Break dancer shot composite & lighting effect

I think you did a good job, it looks rather cool to me.

However.

His arms are completely different lengths, this could be real (angle, etc) but you should fix that, and also the hand he's balancing on is really tiny.

It's a nice comp but the balance of sizes is off, so have a good look at that.

For me personally the lighting effects are a bit 90's looking, but that's in the eye of the beholder.
