First ever colourize, any tips? So, I have only known about this site since yesterday... I didnt know what colourizing was but it look wicked, This is my first ever attempt, it look a couple of hours and it was really fun! I know the colour of the patch's on his chest are probably wrong and the hair looks a bit wierd but apart from that I really like it. :-)

Re: First ever colourize, any tips? Wafferliron... Welcome to RTP!!! Excellent first attempt. One thing that caught my eye was in the "fruit salad" (his decorations). You've painted them all red and white when they are actually more colorful with blues, greens, golds and other primary colors. Also the brass is a little dull, and the Lt. Col "chicken wings" too gold. The actual colorization is very good, but not accurate.

Re: First ever colourize, any tips? I noticed the gold and brass right away too. On my monitor they look slightly green. But overall an excellent job for your first attempt.

Re: First ever colourize, any tips? Much, much better. Great job on the ribbons. The brass is more believable, but you may or may not know that the U.S. pins on the collar are also bright brass.

Re: First ever colourize, any tips? I'd make the skin tone less even. Put more red on the knuckles, cheeks, forehead and nose. The areas of the skin where there's underlying beard growth will look more realistic if you add some yellow and blue to them. Look at blown up pictures of faces and look at where the variation in skin tone occurs. You'll see that the skin hue is never even; if it's too even the person looks like he's wearing a ton of foundation.
