Opinion of my latest retouch :-)

Hello all, I was messing around earlier with a picture I took for a band ages ago...... I only spent about an hour doing it so it isnt perfect but I think it looks pretty rad! Been playing around with stuff I havent done before...

and it was really fun!

I really like the direction you're heading. The skintones (particularly the guy on the left) appear too yellow to me. Also there's a bit of an obvious halo around the head of the left-hand guy.

Thanks.... that halo around his head is actually just a lighter coloured cloud that is on the origional (it does look like a halo though so i shall get rid!) the skin tones look ok on my computer but this is most probably down to the fact that my mac is now old and dull and has never been callibrated ( and the guy on the left is Asian? :-) ).

I shall have another play around with it though!

The age of your machine is almost irrelevant, but yes, it definitely should be calibrated. The low-end calibrators are so cheap that you're mad not to get one.

The skin tone on that left guy is yellowish on my monitor also. Damien, what cheap calibrators are you referring, Spyder? It;s good I heard

I shall definatly invest in one when I have some money... what would you suggest?

Um, I have the EyeOne Display II, but it's a bit more expensive. Look into the Huey, or Spyder Express. I think they are the cheapest ones available - less than US$100, I think.
