Am i getting any better? Posted a photo a few days ago and got bad reviews about it. Am i getting any better? Dont mind the flyaways, it was mainly just skin practice. http://i34.tinypic.com/2ildkqs.jpg

Re: Am i getting any better? Looks good to me. Skin texture is retained, adjustments to the nose and mouth are subtle and not obvious in the final image.

Re: Am i getting any better? Insensitive, It is hard to tell if you are improving, as I would need to go back and look at your older retouches. However, this one is pretty good. I'm undecided about the additional grain you have added. If it were to be a large print, I may suggest not so much grain. If smaller, it will smooth out. Also, at first I was thinking too smooth. But, after viewing the original for a few minutes, I see that her facial muscle tone is really smooth. Once your remove her imperfections (few) I see why your result was so smooth. So, good job and maybe look at ways to ever so slightly reduce the grain.

Re: Am i getting any better? Yes, I think you did a fine job. How long did you spend and could you give us your workflow techniques? I would assume healing brush, some cloning, add noise, D&B.

Hey Steve! I actually did no D&B. I did the degrunge method, using surface blur instead of gausion, and then i reduced the opacity of my de-grunged layer down to about 80. And then i added some noise and grain. |
