Started a new project, what do YOU think?

Hellllllo all, I decided to start a new series of works yesterday.... They are based on still life flowers but I have decided to make them look amusing. I think I'm going to do about 20 in total.

Each flower is going to have a seperate 'personality' the two I have done so far have the personality 'body builder' and 'boxer'. These two are fairly similar but they wont be once I have finished .

I really want to know what people think, maybe in just going a little mad?

Cheers, Matt.

Hi Matt,
It is a cool idea, but the one think that seems off is the color. Pink is a girly color, so for boxers and body builders, you might want to find different colored flowers.
good luck and post more as you do them.

Thanks CathyH, I thought that about the colours, but then I thought that it makes it funnier if its feminine colours for masculine things...... not sure though.

i like both the pink and blue/green bodybuilder but the the boxer is superb in blue and a great idea for the "gloves" to be red

Re: Started a new project, what do YOU think?

Actually I think they are quite lovely. I did several series one time of items that I just layed on the scanner. I did a whole series of flowers and turned them into a set which sells well til this day.
What I like about yours is they become for lack of better words a bit "Dr. Seuss Like." I am a huge Dr. Seuss fan so trust me that is a compliment.

Re: Started a new project, what do YOU think?

Palms1, thanks for your kind words. Id agree that the kung-fu one is a bit dark, but I like it that way too.....

Sweetlight, again thanks for your kind words. Saying they are Dr Suess like is a massive compliment.

Ill always be a photoggrapher but I really dont think you can beat using a scanner to 'photograph ' flowers.

I shall be posting more as and when I do them
