Gardenia Shot

What else could I do to make this photo perfect?

Thanks, Pam

Looks like it's got a green cast. Needs more yellow

Re: Gardenia Shot

Hello Pam,
I am no expert on flower images. But, the ones I have seen that I liked the most brought out a bit more detail in the petals. I would imagine it was a combination of curves on a mask and sharpening. Currently, I am not drawn to any particular part of the image and it looks fairly soft. That could be your intent, which is fine. It is just another idea

Great shot though ! Let us see your final image !

Hi Tommy....I'm pretty much an amatuer, so you lost me on some of that! I did mess with it some more though. Does this look any better? I'm actually a paper crafter and I also design digital cutting files for the Pazzles Design Team, but I like to tweak my photos to use on my cards! I have a lot to learn!

Thanks, Pam

Re: Gardenia Shot

Hi Pam,
Sorry, we often assume your Photoshop skills are in place. Not a problem.
It may be hard to do too much enhancement, as the petals are slightly out of focus. While they can often be brought out some, it really depends on the amount of "out of focus". These are right on that threshold.

Keep in mind we only have the small resolution thumbnail to work on. That makes it difficult to reveal much detail. However, here are two examples, just to lead you in the right direction.

The one on the left leaves everything pretty much as is, yet attempts to bring out a bit of detail on the petals and sharpen them to make them look more in focus.

The one on the right does that, plus blurs the leaves slightly, changing the depth of field, to bring attention to the petals.

Again, just some ideas. To do it correctly, we would need a higher res image.
