Another fashion retouch – critique please!

Been working on my D&B skills - the main technique used to "soft" her skin in this image. Together with some healing. Color corrected by the numbers. What do you think? Would this fit in a fashion magazine or are there room for improvements? Thank you for your time!

/Karl

Re: Another fashion retouch – critique please!

Karl,
I like the skin texture and overall tonality.
I normally don't like to say much about smaller color issues when looking at these small thumbnails and no color profiles. But, here are some areas for you to look at. Red - color, blue - cleanup.

041567970: Thank you so much!

Tommy: Damn, if I just had those eyes of yours! Thank you so much! Hope you get enough cred for always taking your time! What's your best solution for color shifts in skin? Is it makeing a new layer set to color and sample a "good" color and paint? Or is it maybe changing hue and mask it in? Is there any way to like exadurate color shifts like the ones in my image? You know when they are really small, so that you can see them clear and then fix them.

Re: Another fashion retouch – critique please!

The methods of correcting color are numerous. I think it depends on your underlying workflow.

One quick way (which I simply found from playing a minute ago) to show the uneven areas is to open the image in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) and adjust the vibrance to max. You could also do this in Photoshop but it may take more time. Afterall, vibrance just selectively increases saturation of colors.

Here is the result, which isn't bad. It's not extreme, but you can certainly tell the areas.

Hmm that's a nice way! Thanks! Heard that they put in the vibrance slider in the new CS4. Then probably you could do this right in PS.

Thanks again!
