Re: Another backstage model

Anneke, no bad feelings, but sometimes people come up with pics not knowing that there is a copyright attached. I have removed the link. Thanks for the info

Re: Another backstage model

I'm looking at the first set of pictures. Just looking at the after, I would have assumed you'd used a gel on the lights to get that highlight in her hair - that's a very nice touch. You've done a great job making it look the pix in the hair style books.
I also like the touchup you did around her mouth.
I don't know that I would change anything - very nice work, and I hope to move up to your level.

Re: Another backstage model

Congratulations Anneke !!

looking at the first set, I would say its slightly overdone. Specially over her right cheek and chin areas. I feel like she's wearing a mask. Actually, I feel the same way looking at the original. It's a matter of taste, but I would further burn her cheek and chin in order to get some depth... Otherwise, it's a really good job. How long did it take?

On the second set, I would stick with your first feeling about the color of the shirt.

Good job!

Re: Another backstage model

First set- I wouldn't have removed all of her freckles. If anything I would have slightly accentuated them. Makes the portrait that much more interesting. Also the color on the hair seems too washed out. Brutal honesty: It doesn't look 'crazy.' It looks like 'crazy' after she'd washed her hair everyday for two weeks after the color job.

I also probably would have tried to bump up the colors in her eyes, especially the hazel/orangish tints right around her pupils. That bump in color plus her freckles plus the red hues in her hair might have made all of them really pop.
