| I posted a thread in the beginning of the month. There has been 144 views but not one crituque. I'm not sure why some of these posts get so many responses and others get none? What's up with that? anyway i'll try again... http://www.caitryanphoto.com/z_pages/Elizabeth.html *rollover* |

| Re: NYC Retoucher 2 why no responses? Sorry, Caitlinr. Welcome to RetouchPro! Explore and Enjoy! I'm not a retoucher so I can't help you much and can only critique from a layman's point of view. I would think the image is acceptable in the high fashion industry, but for my personal taste, it is over done. Her skin looks like bread dough. Just a look that I don't like. I do like her eye makeup tough. :-) |

| Re: NYC Retoucher 2 why no responses? I didn't see your last post... This is one of the best things I've seen here for a while. It's really well balanced and stylish and it has an elegance of a painting. I love the gothic feel. The sheen on the ear and hair really compliments the earring! The only thing that slightly bothers me is the gray skin in the hair near the forehead... I would fill that some hair so it doesn't look like she's going bold. |

| Re: NYC Retoucher 2 why no responses? and perhaps lift and move the earring slightly so it doesn't hang too much and pulls the ear less. |

| Re: NYC Retoucher 2 why no responses? I don't agree with the last critique. The tonal transitions have been flattened, making the whole image lifeless and flat. Its a little dead. You do seem to have the raw technique, but its not been used very sensitively here. Even very subtle color movements which have been lost would help. Sorry to be so harsh. In the original there is a subtlety of tone and colour, which could be worked with and brought forward, rather than killed. The hair in the original on the other hand is too mechanical, and would probably need some serious work from some another source to bring it to life. |

Most of the members here tend to default to the polite mode when viewing posts.. If they can not say anything nice about a picture or offer any positive feedback then they tend to stay silent.. I personally could not find any redeeming values about the retouch of the other photo and didn't want to offer any suggestions on how to improve it because, with all the garish colors,.. I didn't like the photo and would not have used it to reflect my work or posted it on the web in the first place. I am just an old geezer, not Avant-garde and certainly not into High Fashion. Sooo, to sum up, It would not have sounded very nice and might have offended you and/or the photographer to just say, "I think the picture sucks".. which explains my silence about your other post.. Just trying to keep the peace.. Peace, This post on the other hand shows some good retouching, albeit I think the image has a pronounced yellow cast to it and could be carved a bit more to show some dimension so it does not look so flat.. |

| Re: NYC Retoucher 2 why no responses? I think its right to say that what you have done is technically Ok, and far above what is generally posted here, that's true. |

| Re: NYC Retoucher 2 why no responses? i absolutely love it i dont think it looks fake at all there is still texture in the skin which is excellent because there is nothing worse than a picture that has been blurred the only things i would change if i had been the one retouching would be as sinisa said to Quote:
other than those too things, well done. |

| Re: NYC Retoucher 2 why no responses? once again - it's a great image, it's moody and original. i am so fed up with images of cheap looking girls with weird (sexy?) expressions on their blurred faces pushing their breasts out, that people upload here all the time. |

| Re: NYC Retoucher 2 why no responses? I think you might have to try to define some kind of cheekbone. I have the feeling her skin is slightly too yellow too. And her neck seems creepily long. But you do have the skills, that's for sure! |

| Re: NYC Retoucher 2 why no responses? Just another prime example of why one should attach a less than 100K sample to their post! Sometimes links to outside sites can get broken... externally linked images should only be made available as a backup for attached images. External links change, some sites purge old accounts or have time limits for storage, which makes an otherwise useful thread here pretty useless. For all posters --- Please don't use external links as the only source for images, It would be better to attach images as well, since the link will inevitably go dead, rendering the information provided in that thread useless to future readers. By attaching the image to the post it will be viewable forever. The following links may help! Attaching Files or Images to Threads or Posts Size and quality for Attached Images! After you post your less than 100K version here, you could also post a link to the site that is hosting a larger version Use one of your own or any of these other host options: ImageVenue.com (3Meg max, free) or pixentral.com (2Meg max, free) or photobucket.com (1 Meg max free,... 5 Meg PRO)-- .Flickr.com (5Meg max free.. BUT they resize to 1024 long side if you don't pay) |
