Latest work, how am I doing?

I've been away and spend the past few months working on my technique, practicing on mainly my own shoots but others as well. I'd like to know how I'm doing... good bad or ugly? Do I have a future in retouching?

Brian, I am by no means a pro and your work looks very nice, the choice of your background for example, BUT there are a few things that could maybe improved - it's a matter of preference - so if you think you can do without, just ignore:

The top head could use a little more roundness, the shadows below her arms draw attention away from the main subject and the hand looks "older" than the modell.. just my 2c

Here's my extended portfolio of my own retouched work and on my profile there's a link to retouching for other photographer's work I've retouched, if anyone has the time to assess my skills overall at all I'd really appreciate the feedback. A job has come up that I may apply for but an expert opinion will help that decision rather than make an arse of myself ;O)

I do like the eye of Olbaldy, very good changes that i wouldn't have picked up on immediately, i'd better get my act together because i hope to be doing some portraiture in the non to distant future...

here is some comments. i think the skin looks pretty good. maybe a little too smooth at places, but that can be down to taste. dont forget the hands!! ease the lines and get rid of some of the veins. easy to forget this. also remember to even out the skin tones a little more. fingers and ears are too read usually.

I think its a great image! and good retouch - but incomplete. The main thing that puts me off is her hand. I don't find the skin too smooth, but otherwise I agree with camilla_k's suggestions to bring it to the next level.
