for the firing squad Hello, I'm new to glamour retouching but Mira is so glamourous so who could resist. I know the highlights are blown but I kinda dig it and there was no recovering from raw was just poorly shot. Any feedback would be good, positive would be nice as its easy to be heartbroken, but I want to get better as lets face it..how fun is being glamorous may want to do it again someday.

Re: for the firing squad The not blown out hair looks good. Possibly may want to paint over the bad with the BG color. Skin looks a bit tooo light. As for clean up, I would say you did a good job but without the original, its hard to judge. One thing I do see is one dark black spot just above her upper lip that can be removed. Its diff but is ok. I would like to see her eyes talk to me in the next shoot if possible. Eyes closed can convey a lot of drama, but I dont know what to think of it here. Picture does not tell a story. Hope it helps, -Keven

A stay of execution is in order Bridgit, is that what they do in Oz to retoucher's lol You just need to bring in the bg to the good hair as Keven said and the blown bits on the shouder etc Have your cam set to view "blinkies" in the LCD and it'll show the blown bits in the histogram, it's good, have nice weekend, Gary

Re: for the firing squad I get the impression you were going for hi key, but in the end didn't quite get there. The blown out hair, but still recognizable bg makes the image look overexposed. I didn't actually try this (so I'm going out on a limb with this recommendation), but I would create a new Curves Layer, Screen blending mode, kick up the white end of the curves to really bring Hi Key in, and then use Gradient reflected tool and mask a center line about the center of the face. Like I said, it's always dangerous to recommend something here one doesn't actually know will work, but that would be my first step to imrpoving this image. From there, it would depend upon what I saw. Rick RickAllenPhoto.com
