comments on colourization

Any comments on this colourization i did for a friend would be appreciated ,this is only my second attempt at colourizing so do,nt be too cruel lol.

Hi Paul, Most of the image looks pretty good. are you working on seperate layers for each color? I found that the multiply blend mode works well for the baby.

Paul I used the eyes and teeth from the original and masked into your colored version...
they ALL seemed much to bright to me

The coloring looks pretty good for the second attempt... Keep practicing, you are doing great!

Many thanks for the replies ,I used masks and multiple layers, great tip Crazyfly about the blend mode and i see what you mean OlBaldy when compared side by side with your take on the eyes and teeth i really overdid the brightness.A little further up the learning curve thanks to all the great people on here who provide tips and tutorials.

This is a very quick work up on this. First thing was to clean up the original and get it's tones right to accept color. Then I built a set of gradient overlays, set them to color blend mode, and masked them. (I know the masks suck, but I'm working very fast with a touch pad while I'm waiting for a plane.) I describe this technique here. Sorry there isn't time to finish or clean it up (the background, shirts, and teeth are unfinished).
