Re: First Restoration Posted

I've reworked the image and think I've added quite a bit of detail, as well as cleaning up the eye.

Rats, it doesn't look good when I uploaded it. I'm doing something wrong. If someone can tell me how to upload to best quality in CS3, I would really appreciate it! Instructions in another thread don't seem to work in CS3. Sigh.

Re: First Restoration Posted

Before I upload, I normally use File>Save for Web & Devices.

Here is what I do within the dialog:
1. I first click the Image Size tab. In there I set the longest dimension to 800 px. (This is just so it fits most screens easily)

2. Then I examine the other settings, ensuring they are set as follows (which you can always save as a preset):
- Very High
- Progressive = off (optional, but not needed)
- ICC profile = on (now that many browsers are color managed)
- Optimized = on (so it will use the optimization settings)
- Quality = 97 (changes automatically)
- Blur = 0
- Matte = blank

3. I then click the fly out and check those settings.
- Convert to sRGB - uncheck if using ICC profile = on above. Else check it.
- Click the Optimize To File Size option.
> Set this to 200K if a Patron, 100K if a regular user.

Again, most of these settings are saved into a preset and recalled later. Some (like the optimized file size) do not save. So, later that is the only one you may have to check.

You can also get fancy and do all of this in a script.
