Sky Captain Edit

Hey Everyone,

Well I'm kinda new to this whole stock manipulation retouching scene.
But I wanted to expand my range so here I am.
The image you are going to see will be an experiment in as well retouching, masking, rendering, and editing.

I will be trying as many techniques as possible on the same image and yet will try to make them work together.

So far I did a mild retouching of the skin, a render, no color correction so far (haven't decided on the final looks so that ll change further on)
And I added a water effect and a working background.

I wanted your opinion on what I have so far so that I can work off that before I start adding more things and improving it more.

The stock photo is from a talented artist:

As for the picture:

Any and all critique good and bad are welcome, kinda new to this so here to learn.

Re: Sky Captain Edit

You could do without the water effect - it looks like a bad case of mold.

Re: Sky Captain Edit

Well the water effect is one of the effects I want to master so it'll have to stay. Though what do you recommend to make it look less... moldy?

Re: Sky Captain Edit

What is it you're trying to accomplish with the water effect? Clothing? Stockings? Just plain wet? . . . IMO the current location is part of the moldy look.

Re: Sky Captain Edit

Okay I must say I did a very poor attempt here, almost not worthy of posting but I want to replace something on her with a water effect. Problem is I only have 4 proper water shots that I can actually use.

Tell me what did I do wrong and how or if it is fixable. Imo Im missing the texture of the shorts, something very hard to emulate with water.

Edit:
This was a WIP I stopped half way because it looked half assed.
