Fashion Retouch Before: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_KI2ffVShSR...jenny_fore.jpg After: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KI2ffVShSR...enny_efter.jpg Just plain old D&B, PWL, cloning, color by the number and liquifying. Maybe the image is some what overdone but please comment. /Karl

Re: Fashion Retouch Nicely done, Karl. If anything it could use a bit more d&b work on her forehead and seems to have a slight overall color tint toward the cool side.

Re: Fashion Retouch Karl, I have no criticism at all. Looks good to me. I think most of the major elements were addressed. I'm surprised you spent as much time on the clothing as you did... most people do not... they seem more interested in just doing the face. Good job with that as well. I'd be interested to know if it was your intent to change the color of the blouse as you did, or was it a carry over from another element. I really prefer a bit more white in the blouse, but not if it was your intent to blend it some with the background.

Beautiful commercial retouch. While the before picture's good, the after is billboard-ready. Superb dodge and burn, very precise. Kudos for the clothes too! A few very minor comments: I'd add some shadows to her scleras to give them some depth. They're looking a tad flat at the moment. Finally, I think the noise/grain is a little excessive. Besides those two things I have nothing but praise. Nice work! Last edited by mikedimples; 06-30-2009 at 03:30 AM. Reason: forgot a point

Re: Fashion Retouch Tommy: Thank you so much for your kind words! To be frank I usually (as most other people) don't spend that much time with clothing but in this image it was a quit simple task since there wasn't that much texture in it. Mike: Your words also make me a very happy retoucher!! I think the changes you made on her eyes is very nice and relevant. Subtle yet significant (as Chris Orwig would have said it). The noise is also a thing I will take a look at. Probably I have to spend some time in masking the highpass sharpening layer. /Karl

| Re: Fashion Retouch The monthly fee at Lynda.com is well worth the massive amount of Photoshop/retouching knowledge I've learned. I highly recommend any serious retouchers here to check out Lynda.com -- you can watch many of their movies for free. No, I don't work for them. Last edited by mikedimples; 06-30-2009 at 07:34 PM.
