Re: My first try in photo retouching

Very nice for a "first try"! I look forward to seeing more examples of your work after you've gotten more experience -- they should be awesome.

Thumbs up Re: My first try in photo retouching

Very nice work! It's great to see newbies who don't go overboard. It's so easy to push it too far -- I admit it's a problem I still have. One suggestion I have is to work on much larger images. In the professional field you'll frequently work on images 2500x2500 and larger, so it's a good idea to get comfortable with those sizes now. While it's relatively easy to retouch medium and small images while keeping them believable, retouching large images takes much more skill.

I just have one minor concern: I hope that girl didn't specifically tan in preparation for the photo. If it were me, I would have changed her skin color a little less. Besides that, nice work. Keep practicing, and try to work on much larger images (the bigger the better) if you plan to work professionally some day.

Re: My first try in photo retouching

Irene,
I like it very much. The various elements that are important to work with have been demonstrated, i.e. lighting, reshaping, blemish removal, color/tonality. I can see where you have done these things and am pleased with the results.

I highlighted a few areas that stand out. Red marks are just odd lines or shadows that need a bit of work. Blue marks are where there were some odd color changes along a border. I didn't want to get nitpicky, just point out a few obvious items.

Great work and certainly keep it up.
