| Re: Photo Retouch for comments - Andra Irene, Commenting on the second image (jennifer): - I like what you did with the hair. In fact you did a very good job there; hair seems to be one of your stronger points. - Also, the eyes and mouth are good. - I am not so pleased with the skin overall. There are just too many areas that need attention, some of which was in the original and just carried over. For example, the hair on her chin had been removed previously but the removal stopped abruptly 1/3 of the way up. With your contrast adjustment, it is now very obvious. As is the unusually hairy spot below her ear. I think a good review from yourself, circling the problems areas, and then attacking each patiently would help. It seems as though you are rushing through the skin retouch; this is normal when a particular area of retouch is weaker. So, spend more time on your weak areas to help improve them. |

| Re: Photo Retouch for comments - Andra There are a few ways, depending on how much time you want to put in it versus the quality of the outcome. Of course, the most preferred but the longest is d&b. Second is probably painting on a soft-light or overlay layer. Chris Tarantino prefers the soft-light technique and there is a rebroadcast of his technique on Wednesday afternoon. Why don't you sign up and watch. Other ways are going to have less quality, but are faster, i.e.cloning the luminosity only from a good area; using the patch tool in very small amounts; etc. All of these are generally used just for lower res images, when doing repair, or something small. Generally, they are not considered retouch tools. |
