colour correction - my first post!

Hi!

this is my first post! so hi everyone!

I have been working on a photo and trying to give it a silvery kind of look similar to this image i found on www.zhangjingna.com.

please can you help me on how you do it? with colour correcting i always just guess and mine seems to be going an unwanted pink! haha

if you see anything else i could change let me know too.

The problem is that you're guessing your color correction. You don't have to you know.

Open up photoshop and get your info pallet open. Grab a color picker and place it on the color you want to achieve. Then go to your picture and put a picker on the spot that should have that color.

Then grab whatever tools you need to make it that color.

On this example, I grabbed a color from her forehead to get a rough idea of color.

Went to your picture: Desaturated it by -48, the curves to get the exact color 187/157/137 which I picked. Then I looked again and saw that in the one you liked the shadows are really dark, so I put another curves layer on and darkened just the shadows. Then to top it all off I lightened the highlights by making a luminosity mask (cmd+click on the RGB channel) and again curving it up slightly.

The info pallet is your friend. It makes color work a hell of a lot easier.
