not sure if it is portfolio worthy yet. How about you do that same kind of effect on on a picture and add all the color effects to the image. I think that will show off more of your skills.

To be honest, I liked the before shot better... The blue background works well with the orange foreground. Maybe try some images that have major issues in the original shot (blemishes, horrible background, etc.) and then retouch them to look better....
