Would love to hear your thoughts on this shot:

very nice!.... although it looks to me as if she is floating... (no shadows around knee or leg) maybe get rid of some shoulder straps, smooth out the bra lines but other than that it looks good to me!

Sort of reminiscent of a muted "The Birth of Venus" by Sandro Botticelli.

Is this a montage? Because it looks like it would be missing a shadow casting from her on the ground.

Apart from that: I really like the image's mood that's established through her expression and the overall color theme. But the contrast of the model disturbs me a little as the background is so cloudy.

I think its a montage.. I took a little while to examine the picture. And my opinion is that the pixel density, model size and lens angle isnt quite right, and the light coming from sky light models neck in kinda funny angle and "shape". Its coming through cloud so it couldnt be that hard from edges.. and if it would be there would have to be kinda sharp shadow too. I can be wrong of course =)

aand had to open the picture in Photoshop and level the brightness up.. there isnt any shadow under her.

But gotta give respect for nice light reading skills. Made the light almost match one in the background picture. Nice skill to own.

Thanks for the continued interest and kind comments.

The shot was indeed a composite. I have a load of portable strobes which I normally use for on location shooting, however for this shot the weather conditions at the background location were to wet and windy for using strobes / diffusers etc.

Regarding the absence of shadows below the model, on my calibrated monitor they are present, and also on print! ;-)
