Retouch of a pretty girl

Hi,
Does it improve the image?
Is the manipulation believable?
What would you add or do differently?
Thanks

Re: Retouch of a pretty girl

The quality on those other samples were not too great (100kb limit)

Here are some slightly clearer ones:

Orignial:

Reshaped:
compare 2.jpg

Also, what are your feeling about the color correcting in these?

Re: Retouch of a pretty girl

By just taking a quick glimpse, it looks pretty good. The only thing I see is the neck and shoulders seem to be just a little off. The neck tendon on the left seems to be higher than on the right. On the right, the hair hides it. However, the hair seems to sit a bit low, indicating that the shoulder is lower on the right side than on the left (shoulder/neck tendon area). But her body is slightly turned... so I dunno. I'm just a newbie... so i'm learning as I go. I may be totally wrong.

I think thats a great job! Don't so much like the colour correcting photos though. I too am an absolute newbie. But I really like the retouched girl.

Re: Retouch of a pretty girl

Changing the form of a model is always scary for. Funnily enough, the left shoulder is actually even higher in the original, than it is in the retouch. But I see what you mean, it does look as if the right shoulder under the hair is too low. Odd.

One of my friends also didn't like the color correction. I was trying to go extreme since, I usually stay safe. I like it ok, but here is something off about it, perhaps that it is just unnatural, or not finished looking??

Re: Retouch of a pretty girl

Reshaped is very good, however both the colour correction examples suffer from appalling overcontrast and oversharpening... maybe over-everything. You did some very fine liquifying and then ruined the image by turning everything up to 11.

With 80% more restraint, CC2 might just work out.

@oneredpanther

I will apply that advice and perhaps upload another higher quality version. Regardless I will apply that advice in some shape or form. Great input from everybody. I really enjoy it.

Re: Retouch of a pretty girl

you did a really good job about her head, hair... very great. About the colors I'm not a huge fan.

dear god, she had a really weird head before when you think about it...
