Schwarzenegger Style Photo, what do you think?

Hello to you all! This is my first topic up here, first off all i'd like to say my first language is not English, so there might be some little/big/huge mistakes in my vocabulary :P

My school gave me the objective to create a photo in the style of
this (click)

Now i decided to take this really quite far, meaning i first retouched the dude i photographed, then i added some grain texture, and then i took the image of Mr Schwarzenegger and put it on top of my photo to add in some of the grain/feeling from that image, to give it sort of the same feel. Also did some dodge and burn to put more emphasis on the lighting.

The first problem with the conversion you chose for this assignment is one all of us older folks wish for...young skin and no wrinkles. To accomplish the conversion is really quite simple, overdo/exaggerate the tones and lines after you make the conversion to black and white. And then oversharpen the picture until you get the drama illustrated in the sample you chose.

The one I did is quick and dirty; but I hope it is along the lines you are looking for.

Nice work and i really like the style
as Janet has said to get a better result you need older wrinkly skin

I also have gave it a try but using topaz adjust to give more grunge then masked the hair etc back and added a tint

@Bandy, thanks! I didnt see it until you told me. Had to do with my screen brightness, it wasnt on 100%.

To the rest, i can see where you are going with the grungy/more rimples thing, though i'm afraid i'm going to make the skin fake. Since it is a young person on my photo, it looks a bit odd to see him with rimples and stuff. Thanks!

chin still needs some work and as you look at the screen a few bits on the left. ( i have just edited mine again )
