Need Direction Hello RP forum! My name's Xavier, and I've been editing photos now on and off for about 3 years. I've just now recently decided to get serious about my work due to increase of interest in my work. I'm slowly trying to establish myself as a freelance retoucher, but before I step out there I would like crituques of my work from more experienced individuals in the trade. The images i've included range from hq shots, as well as sub-quality images that i've tried to work with. Any advice, direction, praise, etc. is welcome! I just ask that you're straight forward, no sugar coating please

Re: Need Direction Welcome to retouchpro. I think you will learn a lot from here. My observations are from a quick look. The girl in blue is an interesting take on the photo but not a real retouch, it shows more styling or creativity. Most people are looking at skin and hair when talking retouch. The dark background photo could be critiqued for retouching, but I would need to see it larger. I like the brightness, and no major warping of features. The sparkle by her mouth (from ear ring) is distracting. Hope this helps.

Re: Need Direction Hi, It is difficult to see what is going on in the thumbnails and I would like to state up front that I am just a beginner too. With the girl in blue it looks like there are problems with the cutout. There a places where her dress appears to fade out. It would have been better to actually photograph her against a white background. I like the concept though. With the girl in black I can't see what you have done (other than lighten it up) because the picture is so small. I do like the pose.
