Beauty Critique

Hey all,

This is an image I shot a few months ago...I tried to be pretty meticulous with the retouching but would like to know if I missed anything. What I'd like to know is how to go even further with the skin and make it a semi-consistent texture and tone, things I'm still practicing with. I see some of the retouches on this forum where the skin just looks 'better', for lack of a more descriptive word. Suggestions and critiques welcome.

Re: Beauty Critique

Very nice sir...I'm new to retouching. May I suggest a little whitening of the teeth...

Re: Beauty Critique

nice ... really nice.

I would increase the skin clarity to as to bring back some details and imperfections. She looks plastic if you know what I mean.

Re: Beauty Critique

It would help if you kept the same lighting ratio in the before and after.

Re: Beauty Critique

It is a Top Notch retouch, no doubt about it, I just wish you don't abuse the inverted HP so much, as it gives it a hint of "too perfect to be true" look.

Re: Beauty Critique

Hello you have a nice photo to work with. Here are my suggestion and some of these are just opinions. Over all too dark, pours over sharpened, I really would like to see the eye lashes on both eyes but mostly on the left hand side also the eye brow is fuzzy. The lips have more work to do. Where you did work on them is looks funny and the far side there are 2 highlights I would remove. Plus right above the top lip you could smooth out.
Hope that helps.

Re: Beauty Critique

I agree with the above post. Also darkening it out is cheating.
